My Name is Amy Tarr and I am the owner and primary designer/ consultant of Design Niche Interior Design + Concepts
I am a qualified interior designer and obtained my BTECH in Interior Design from Nelson Mandela University in 2008.
I have been practicing in the interior design industry for 4 years and began my career working at Brigette Hills Interiors in Port Elizabeth, after which I then established my own company, Design Niche Interior Design + Concepts.
As well as owning and running my own company, I lecture at the NMMU in the department of architectural technology and interior design and have done so for the past 3.5 years.
Throughout my 4 years in industry I have tackled and completed a variety of projects, from residential renovations and new buildings, retail spaces, furniture renovation, kitchen designs and installations, branding and identy development to corporate design and layouts.
I am efficient in autocad as well as a variety of 3d drawing programs and corel draw. These skills allow me to create realistic impressions of spacial design proposals as well as to resolve detail drawings for custom designed components for individual clients.
Being efficient in autocad means that spatial layouts on plans and sections can be generated for projects, ensuring a complete service package for Design Niche clients, from conceptual development to finishing schedules and technical drawings.
I have a devoted passion and enthusiasm for my profession, I take pride in creating good, solid and unique solutions to design dilemas and problems. In turn satifying clients needs in the most unique, profcient and effective way.
